A Bible based and rapidly expanding arm of the Church of Christ (Holiness) U.S.A. producing faithful servants committed to teaching and training others to spread he gospel: an auxiliary "Geared to the Times, but Anchored in the Rock."

Mission Statement

The mission of the Sunday School and Holiness Young People's Union (H.Y.P.U.) is to provide leadership training and the Core Christian Education in the church and community; to teach and train teachers and students in the Word of God.

Congress Goals - Short Term (2 years - 2002)

  • Increase membership of the Sunday School and H.Y.P.U. students from 6,512 to 7,000. (+488)

  • Increase revenue by 10%.

  • Push for more Vacation Bible Schools during the year. 71 now to 90 (+19)

  • Provide $2,500 in grants to local Sunday Schools and H.Y.P.U.'s for students and teacher development and Class growth.

Congress Goals - Long Term (4 years - 2004)

  • A National Sunday School and Holiness Young People's Union INstructional Seminar and Music Workshop. (3 days of concentrated instruction for teachers, group leaders, superintendents, families and pastors). Special emphasis will be in the areas of evangelism, prayer and healing services, preaching and enhancing teaching and leadership abilities). The Music Workshop component will consist of directing clinics, instrumental clinics and choir rehearsals with a final recording session.

  • Increase Sunday School and H.Y.P.U. students form 7,000 to 8,500. (+1988)

  • Increase number of local H.Y.P.U.'s from 100 to 125. (+41)

  • Increase revenue by 10%.

  • Push for more Vacation Bible Schools during the year, from 90 to 105.

  • Provide $5,000 in grants to local Sunday Schools and H.Y.P.U.'s for students and teacher development and class growth.
